Korean Steps is a Korean language-learning app for English speakers, developed by Ben Hangul. The app uses Google services for sign-in, cloud progress syncing, advertising, analytics, and crash reporting.

📥 Information we collect
The information collected depends on the features you use and the choices you make.
🔐 Google account information
If you use Google Sign-In, Firebase Authentication receives your name, email address, profile photo, and a unique account identifier.
📚 Learning progress
Completed lessons, quiz scores, and related progress data are stored in Firebase Firestore so your progress can be restored and synced.
📣 Advertising identifier
Google AdMob may access your device’s advertising ID and related device or ad-interaction information to provide and measure personalized advertising, subject to your settings and applicable consent choices.
📊 Analytics and crash data
Firebase may collect app activity, device and operating-system information, diagnostics, performance details, and crash logs to help identify issues and understand app use.

We use the information described above to:
- Authenticate your account and sync learning progress across devices.
- Remember completed lessons and quiz results.
- Display, personalize, and measure ads through Google AdMob.
- Diagnose crashes, monitor performance, understand feature use, and improve the app.

🗑️ Data retention & deletion
Account and learning-progress data is retained while it is needed to provide progress syncing and operate the app, unless a longer retention period is required by law. Third-party providers may retain advertising, analytics, or diagnostic information according to their own policies.
Request deletion
Email benhangul.steps@gmail.com to request deletion of your Korean Steps account data. Please send the request from the email address associated with your Google Sign-In so the account can be verified.
🧒 Children’s privacy
Korean Steps is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information, contact us so we can take appropriate action, including deletion where applicable.

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures designed to protect information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
